Amani Village ("we", "our", or "us") is a product of FastWise LLC. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Amani Village mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data to provide our services:

Health Check-In Data

• Symptoms you report during daily check-ins
• Severity ratings you select for symptoms
• Notes you add during check-ins
• This data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your private account

Village Contacts

• Names and phone numbers of support contacts you add
• Stored securely and only used to send SMS messages when you choose to alert them

Custom Symptom Descriptions

• Notes and "other" symptoms you type in your own words
• Used to improve our symptom list and provide better support

Anonymous Usage Data

• Feature usage patterns
• Which community resources are accessed
• Symptom trends (anonymized, not linked to individuals)
• Device model, OS version, and locale for troubleshooting

2. Optional Surveys

We offer brief, optional surveys to help improve maternal health outcomes. You can skip any survey at any time.

• 24-Hour Follow-Up Survey: After logging symptoms that may need attention (yellow or red results), we may ask if you sought care and what barriers you faced. This helps us understand gaps in maternal healthcare access. Limited to once per week to prevent survey fatigue.
• Monthly Wellness Survey: Once per month (after 30 days of use), we may ask about your overall health, care access, and app helpfulness. Takes less than 2 minutes.

How we use survey data:

• To improve the App's features and resources
• To generate anonymous, aggregate insights for maternal health research
• To identify common barriers to care (transportation, cost, etc.)
• Survey data may be included in de-identified form in grant applications or research publications to improve maternal healthcare

We never share individual survey responses. All research use is aggregate and de-identified.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

Amani Village is designed with privacy-first principles:

• ❌ We do NOT collect blood pressure or vital signs
• ❌ We do NOT collect diagnosis codes or Protected Health Information (PHI)
• ❌ We do NOT share individual data with third parties
• ❌ We do NOT sell your data — ever

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Provide symptom awareness and check-in features
• Enable your Village support network functionality
• Improve App performance and fix bugs
• Generate anonymous, aggregate research insights (no individual data shared)
• Understand regional maternal health needs (using anonymous zip code data)

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using:

• Local device storage (SharedPreferences) as the primary storage
• Google Firebase for optional cloud sync, which employs industry-standard encryption

Check-in data and Village contacts are stored in your private account and are not accessible to other users.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted services:

• Google Firebase: For secure authentication, database storage, and analytics
• Apple/Google: For app distribution via App Store and Play Store

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

7. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by:

• Using the "Delete Account" option in App Settings
• Contacting us at admin@fastwise-llc.com

Upon request, we will delete all data associated with your account from our servers within 30 days.

IMPORTANT: Amani Village is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice.

The App is designed to help you:

• Notice symptoms that may need attention
• Communicate with your healthcare provider and support network

9. Children's Privacy

Amani Village is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of certain data collection
